Captain's Set up the Field
For Intermediate, a rectangular shape with end zones at each end. A MRSC field is 60 paces by 30 paces, with end zones 15 paces deep.

For recreational, fields will be 55 paces by 35 paces, with end zones 10 paces deep.

For all fields the dimensions may have to be altered slightly to use the space available in the given field. For example, if a football field is used for rec we will be going across the field (sideline to sideline) and fitting 3 MRSC fields on that football field.

To Initiate Play
A MRSC game is played with (5) five players per team (a minimum of (2) people per gender plus an extra of either gender). The opposing team can waive the default of minimum players at their discretion provided it is prior to the start of the game.

Each point begins with both teams lining up on the front of their respective endzone line. The defense throws ("pulls") the disc to the offense. The receiving team has the option of catching the disc or letting it fall, but if they attempt to catch it & drop it, it is an automatic turnover. THE PULL CANNOT BE KNOCKED DOWN BY THE DEFENSE. The receiving team does not have to wait to have the disc "tagged in" off the pull. Whoever retrieves the disc off of a pull or from any throw that lands out of bounds must play it. It cannot be handed over to someone else to commence play.

If the pull goes directly out of bounds, the receiving team may call "centre" and play the disc from the middle of the field at the point where the disc crossed the boundary. If the disc rolls out, "centre" may not be called.

Endzones Are Live
The pull must be played from where it lands in the endzone. If the pull rolls out of the endzone, it can be walked to the goal line.

Brick Rule
If the pull travels through the endzone and lands out of bounds, the offense may call "brick" and take possession of the disc 10 yards from the goal line.

Movement of the Disc
The disc may be advanced in any direction by completing a pass to a teammate. Players may not run with the disc. The person with the disc ("thrower") has ten seconds to throw the disc. The defender guarding the thrower ("marker") counts out the stall count. The marker can be no closer than one arm-length from the thrower. The defender may begin their stall count within 3 metres of the thrower, but the disc must be in possession of the thrower.

Scoring
Each time the offense completes a pass in the defense's endzone, the offense scores a point. Play is initiated after each score. A MRSC game is won by the first team to reach 17 points or the team ahead after 1 hour and 20 minutes (a five minute half-time is taken after one team reaches 9 points or 40 minutes has passed). **If time runs out, the point must be finished before the game is called.

Change of possession
When a pass in not completed (e.g. out of bounds, drop, block, interception), the defense immediately takes possession of the disc and becomes the offense. If a player is close to an out-of-bounds line and jumps to catch the disc, their first point of contact upon landing determines whether or not they are in-bounds. If the player's first point of contact is on the line, they are out. If the disc lands out-of-bounds it is a turnover, and the disc must be tagged-in by the new defensive team before play continues. The first offensive player to touch the disc, must throw the disc. It cannot be handed off to another player. A defender may block or knock down a pass with any part of their body, except their feet.

Substitutions
Players not in the game may replace players in the game ONLY after a score or during an injury timeout.

Non-contact
No physical contact is allowed between players. Picks and screens are also prohibited. A foul occurs when contact is made. The vertical airspace above the receiver is theirs alone. If a defender enters the receiver's airspace, a foul is called and the disc goes back to the thrower with a new stall count.

Fouls
If a player initiates contact on another player a foul occurs. When a foul disrupts possession, the play resumes as if the possession was retained. If the player committing the foul disagrees with the foul call, the play is redone.

Fouls must be called by the parties involved, not by teammates.
Strips (hitting the disc out of the thrower's hands) and foot blocking are not permitted.

Endzone Possession
If a team gains possession in the end zone which it is defending following a turnover, the player taking possession must make the immediate decision to either: a) Put the disc into play at the spot of the disc, (to fake a throw or pause after gaining possession commits the player to put the disc into play at that spot); or b) carry it directly to the closest point on the goal line and put it into play at that spot. If this option is chosen, the player taking possession must put the disc into play at the goal line. Failure to do so is a travel.

If a pass is blocked or dropped within a teams own endzone (pass made by the same team), this does not count as a point for the other team. The attacking player taking possession must carry the disc directly to the closest spot on the goal line and put the disc into play from there. However, if a pass is intercepted then a point will be awarded to the attacking team.

Self-Refereeing
Players are responsible for their own foul and line calls. Players resolve their own disputes. Rule disputes are settled by the captains, therefore captains must have a firm knowledge of the rules.
