Basketball Leagues

The Basketball League in Mississauga organized by Mississauga Recreational Sports Club (MRSC) is one of the more popular sport leagues amongst our Members.  Founded in Canada by James Naismith, basketball is one of the fastest growing sports in this country.  There are a lot of youth leagues around; however, upon searching, we found that it was quite difficult to find a Mississauga basketball league for adults.  We essentially took the fun of playing pick up ball outside or at the local YMCA and brought it into an organized league in a nice gym with hard wood floors.

When possible, we offer multiple levels of play for our basketball leagues.  These basketball leagues include recreational, intermediate and competitive.  These levels help us to ensure that there is a MRSC basketball league for everyone - regardless of their playing ability.  In each of the leagues, each game is officiated by a single referee.  No matter which league you play in, we encourage sportsmanship and fair play. 

Our 5-on-5 basketball leagues are offered year-round, split into 4 seasons (winter, spring, summer and fall).  People can register as either a team or as an individual (where they are put on a team).  In the future, MRSC is looking to run some 3-on-3 leagues and tournaments.  We look forward to continue organizing and offering our basketball leagues and basketball tournaments within Mississauga.
