About Mississauga Dodgeball Leagues at MRSC
Our Dodgeball Leagues within Mississauga create a friendly and fun atmosphere where you can enjoy playing that popular game we all remember from grade school gym class. The sting of those big rubber balls is something all kids remember. However, since the release of the 2004 movie Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story starring Vince Vaughan and Ben Stiller, dodgeball has grown exponentially in popularity as an adult sport. Who can forget “If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball!”? (By-the-way, we do not recommend throwing wrenches at anyone to practice for our Dodgeball leagues or Dodgeball Tournaments.)In our Dodgeball leagues and tournaments, Mississauga Recreational Sports Club (MRSC) have changed the rules slightly to make the game a little safer and fun. The main difference is the ball. We use a soft ball (like a dense Nerf ball) with a latex coating. This means that you can throw the ball quite hard, but when it hits you it doesn’t hurt.
Dodgeball is a great sport for so many different types of players/teams. It is a great sport for company teams that have a wide range of interests and athletic abilities. People just looking to get involved in a fun activity really enjoy it because unlike most sports (where you will be going against some that have been playing the sport their whole lives), most people are relatively new to dodgeball (at least as an adult). People who are looking for a fun time while still getting a good workout love this game. People who are new to the game are often surprised by the great workout you get. You are constantly moving when you are on the court.
